In its statement on its Telegram account, the Syrian Interior Ministry said that as part of the continued implementation of the articles of the agreement signed between the Syrian government and the terrorist organization YPG, the Airport and Border Gate Security Administration affiliated to the Interior Ministry has taken over the security inspection task of Qamishli Airport.
While the statement said that the transfer took place under the said agreement, details of the process were not given.
It was pointed out that after the security check has been taken over, the application and coordination at the airport will be carried out by units close to the ministry.
On January 29, a new agreement was reached between the Syrian government and the YPG, providing for a ceasefire and gradual integration.
In this context, internal security forces of the Ministry of Interior entered Hasakah province on February 2nd and Qamishli district on February 3rd.
