An artificial intelligence factory has opened in Slovenia

According to Slovenian Radio and Television (RTV), the factory, which aims to provide key services for the development of artificial intelligence for companies, research institutions and users in the public sector, was opened by Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.

At the opening, Golob explained that they are working to not fall behind in artificial intelligence and that the factory will help them do that.

Emphasizing that the “supercomputer” in the factory will be available not only to scientists, but also to many sectors of industry and economy, Golob said: “The real need is to create conditions under which this information can be used and transferred to the economy. This is where the greatest advantage of the new artificial intelligence factory and supercomputer appeared. We are also considering the possibility of providing access to citizens through a national productive artificial intelligence platform to be established within the factory.” he said.

Jerneja Jug Jerse, Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia, explained that the opening of the “Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory” is important not only for Slovenia, but for the entire European Union (EU).

Jerse also explained that the factory is one of the artificial intelligence factories being built across the EU.

It was reported that the project, carried out in collaboration with the Luxembourg-based company Euro HPC and aimed at developing supercomputing technologies and applications in Slovenia and Europe, aims to develop the artificial intelligence ecosystem and disseminate artificial intelligence applications in the industrial, public and scientific sectors.
