Syria declared a ceasefire and suspended operations after reaching an agreement with the YPG

The ministry issued a statement on the agreement reached between the Damascus government and the terrorist organization YPG.

It stated that in line with the agreement reached, a ceasefire has been declared in the region and operations against the terrorist organization have ceased, adding: “We declare a ceasefire on all fronts and a comprehensive halt to conflict activities in various conflict areas.” Statements were recorded.

It was explained that this step was taken to pave the way for the opening of safe corridors for the return of people to the region and to allow state institutions to resume their duties of providing services to citizens.

There is calm in the region

On the other hand, after the agreement, tension on the front subsided and was replaced by calm.

The clashes have stopped and there is silence on the front lines in Raqqa and Tel Abyad, where the Syrian army is conducting daytime operations against the terrorist organization.

On January 13, the Syrian army declared the areas west of the Euphrates occupied by the terrorist organization YPG as military areas.

After evacuating civilians in the region, the Syrian army launched an operation against the terrorist organization in the regions west of the Euphrates on January 15.

The official Syrian news agency SANA announced this evening that Syrian President Ahmed Shara signed an agreement with the terrorist organization YPG, which provides for a ceasefire and the full integration of the organization.
