The British embassy in Tehran is temporarily closed

A written statement from the British government spokesman said: “The British Embassy in Tehran has been temporarily closed. Travel warnings for this country have also been updated to reflect the change in consular services.” Statements were recorded.

On the other hand, the information that the embassy was closed from the night of January 14th was added to the warnings about Iran last updated on January 9th on the British Foreign Office's travel warning page.

The travel warning states: “For security reasons, embassy staff have been temporarily withdrawn from Iran. Our embassy will continue to provide services remotely.” Expressions were used.

“If you find yourself in a difficult situation in Iran, the British government cannot help you”

The travel warning notes that British citizens and dual citizens are at risk of detention and interrogation, adding: “Having a British passport or having connections to the UK is enough to be detained by Iranian institutions.” The statement has been attached.

The warning page said those near the areas where the actions took place should be careful and called for all travel to Iran to be canceled.

The warning also said there are limits to the services the UK can offer its citizens in Iran, adding: “In an emergency, face-to-face consular services are not available. If you find yourself in a difficult situation in Iran, the UK government will not be able to help you.” Statements were recorded.
