The “Taxi Financial Device” application aims to support the registered economy, ensure compliance with the document system and increase opportunities for card payments.
In this context, taxi drivers will be required to use a “taxi financial device” linked to existing taxi meters.
According to the draft, from July 1, taxpayers who carry out passenger transportation activities in taxis that require a taximeter must start using taxi financial devices approved by the Ministry of Finance and Finance with certain technical specifications.
In the event of a new obligation being established within the framework of the obligation or a change in the taximeters used, the use of the approved taxi financial device will take place no later than 30 days after the start of the work or the day of the change of the taximeter.
If the actual passenger transport begins within this period, the approved device must be used before the passenger transport begins.
Taxpayers who started their operations based on the new license plate allocation between the effective date of the notification and the first approval date of the Ministry will start using the taxi financial instrument from January 1, 2027.
Taxpayers accept bank card payment requests through the devices used by concluding a merchant agreement with at least one bank or payment service provider within 15 days of the date on which they are required to use the device.
Technical inspections of taxi financial devices and taximeters operated in connection with them will be carried out by TÜBİTAK and TSE within the framework of the principles to be established by the Financial Administration.
Taxi financial devices are defined in two different ways: as devices that can issue receipts or e-documents.
Manual amount entry is not possible
When you turn on the taximeter, the transaction on the taxi financial device is started at the same time. It is important to complete the transaction on the device at the same time as calculating the fare on the taximeter.
Taximeters cannot operate independently of the taxi financial device.
After calculating the fare and completing the transaction, using the taximeter again is possible after issuing a receipt or e-document from the taxi financial device.
In addition, the device will not be able to work independently of the taximeter and will not be able to issue receipts or e-documents. The amount information is automatically transmitted from the taximeter to the taxi financial device and the amount cannot be entered manually.
