The comet “3I/ATLAS” passed its closest point to Earth

According to the news on the website Space.com, comet 3I/ATLAS, which was supposed to fly close to the Earth, approached the Earth at a distance of 270 million kilometers at 11:30 a.m. Turkish time on December 19.

So comet 3I/ATLAS, which had reached its closest position to Earth, continued on its way.

In his statement on the US-based company's social media platform account, he stated.

Comet 3I/ATLAS was discovered on July 1 by the ATLAS telescope in Chile.

The comet is the third known celestial body thought to have originated from outside the solar system.
