The 2026 budget plans of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources were adopted at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
In the General Assembly, after the speeches on the budget plans, the question-and-answer session began.
Responding to MPs' questions and criticisms, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said that the path to energy-independent Türkiye lies through renewable energy.
Alparslan Bayraktar continued his words as follows:
“The path to energy independence is through the construction of nuclear power plants in Mersin, Akkuyu, Sinop and Thrace, which has been our dream for seventy years. The path to it is through the production of our coal in Manisa, Soma, Muğla and Zonguldak. The path to energy independent Türkiye lies in Şırnak, Gabar While this is the case, the opposition is trying to either ignore or discredit everything we do. If If you ask them, was the oil in Gabar a pre-election move? “For them, the Blue Homeland is just a fairy tale.”
Stating that about 10 decades of solar farms are being built in Turkey every hour, Bayraktar said that within 10 hours of today's budget negotiations in Parliament, a solar power plant was built to meet the electricity needs of 5,000 households, but the country's problem did not attract the attention of the opposition.
Bayraktar made the following statements:
“Unfortunately, the question of our nation does not attract the attention of the opposition. They say: 'Coal should not be mined in Akbelen, it should remain underground', and the fact that thousands of miners are unemployed is not their concern. We implement our projects persistently and with faith: “When our projects start to cost the nation, they try to discredit our institutions by ridiculing them and creating a question mark in the minds of our citizens with lies and slander.”
Bayraktar explained that the opposition did not say “there is no mine here” for the rare earth elements it discovered in Eskişehir Beylikova in 2019 and that it was not the first time it had rejected a discovery.
Stating that the main opposition in Eskişehir Beylikova started a new practice regarding rare earth elements, Bayraktar said: “This method is called political welding. You know, there are people who see the queue and try to intervene, this time the main opposition is trying to get to the front of the queue. They say: 'We will not sell or give away rare earth elements to anyone' and organize rallies on this issue, propose a law and give priority to have.” He criticized.
Bayraktar emphasized that despite many crises in the last five years, they have tried to provide citizens with uninterrupted, high-quality and as affordable energy as possible, stating that they have provided up to 1 trillion in electricity and natural gas support in the last two years and that they will continue to provide this support.
Bayraktar said: “There has been criticism of the last resource provision. With the regulation, we say: 'Let us exclude from support the consumers in the upper income group who are not in need. The supports should go to our citizens, pensioners and low-income citizens who are really in need. The state should no longer cover half of the natural gas and electricity costs of those who have high consumption and live in villas or villas.' Don't let this worry you. he said.
