Turkey has broken a new airport record

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement on the airline's aircraft, passenger and cargo data from the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) for November.

Stating that the number of aircraft taking off and landing at passenger and environmentally friendly airports is 81,000 93 on domestic routes and 65,882 on international routes, Uraloğlu noted that the total aircraft traffic with flyovers reached 197,105. Uraloğlu emphasized that the total passenger traffic, including direct transit, increased by 13 percent compared to the same month last year and that the total amount of cargo transported this month reached 412,688 tons, of which 72,281 tons were on domestic routes and 340,407 tons on international routes.

“The number of passengers traveling by plane in 11 months exceeded 229 million”

Uraloğlu pointed out that in the January-November period, 916 thousand 27 aircraft landed and took off from the airports on domestic routes and 869 thousand 620 on international routes, reaching a total of 2 million 318 thousand 246 aircraft via flyovers, and stated that the total aircraft traffic, including flyovers, increased by 9.1 percent in this period compared to the same period last year.

Regarding the 11-month air passenger statistics, Uraloğlu said: “During this period, when domestic passenger traffic at airports in Turkey was 93 million 846 thousand 999 and international passenger traffic was 135 million 737 thousand 574, a total of 229 million 720 thousand 220 passengers were served with direct transit passengers. Uraloğlu stated that at Istanbul Airport, one of Türkiye's mega projects, the total air traffic reached 44,704 last month, of which 9,440 were on domestic routes and 35,264 were on international routes. Stating that a total of 7 million 31 thousand 62 passengers were handled at Istanbul Airport, 1 million 414 thousand 224 on domestic routes and 5 million 616 thousand 838 on international routes, Uraloğlu noted that in the January-November period, a total of 503 thousand 777 aircraft were handled at the same airport, 114 thousand 651 on domestic routes and 389 thousand 126 on international routes lines. Uraloğlu stated that the number of passengers carried at airports in tourism centers reached 18 million 209 thousand 26 on domestic lines and 42 million 417 thousand 850 on international lines in 11 months, emphasizing that the total number reached 60 million 626 thousand 876.

Uraloğlu stated that a total of 406,000 860 aircraft operated at these airports, of which 141,000 82 were on domestic routes and 265,000 778 were on international routes:

“In the 11-month period, 11 million 730 thousand 787 passengers were handled at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 38 million 85 thousand 216 at Antalya Airport and 5 million 542 thousand 422 passengers at Muğla Dalaman Airport.
