305 GB of internet is used per household per month in Turkey

According to the information from the “Turkish Electronic Communications Sector Quarterly Market Data Report” published by BTK, the total number of broadband internet customers in Turkey exceeded 97.4 million in the second quarter of 2025 (April-May-June).

Of these, 20.7 million were fixed-line customers and 76.6 million were mobile customers. The total number of subscribers increased by 1.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Monthly consumption on the landline exceeded the 300 GB limit

According to the report, internet usage habits and data consumption continued to increase in Turkey.

The data usage of fixed-line broadband customers in particular attracted attention. In the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly data usage of fixed-line internet customers was 305 GB.

The average monthly usage of mobile broadband subscribers reached 17.8 GB.

The fiber optic infrastructure was increased to 637,000 kilometers

The rapidly growing investments in fiber optic infrastructure played a key role in the increase in data consumption. The number of fiber optic Internet subscribers increased by 19.6 percent to 8.77 million compared to the same period last year.

This increase increased the total length of fiber optic infrastructure in Türkiye to 637,000 kilometers. This value represents an increase of 10.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

The report also states that about 26 percent of fixed broadband customers in Turkey prefer connection packages in the speed range of 50 to 100 Mbps.
