Financing of Türkiye's energy infrastructure by the World Bank

Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated in his post on his NSosyal account that the financing in question will be used for investments in high-voltage electricity transmission.

Minister Bayraktar used the following statements in his post:

“We have agreed with Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and the Central Asia Region, to start preparing a financing package of up to 6 billion dollars in the first phase. This financing will be used for the investments in high-voltage electricity transmission that we want to make in order to achieve the target of 120,000 megawatts that we have set for 2035 of installed wind and solar capacity. During the meeting we will also have opportunities for cooperation Topics such as renewable energy, nuclear power and natural gas are assessed.”
