The 5G permit tender conducted at BTK ended with the completion of the sales process of packages for all frequency bands.
BTK President Karagözoğlu said in his evaluation of the tender that the minimum value of the A1, A2 and A3 packages covering the 60 MHz frequency band in the 700 MHz band was set at 1 billion 275 million dollars and the price resulting from the tender was 1 billion 280 million dollars.
Karagözoğlu explained that the minimum value of the B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7 and B8 packages, which total the 340 MHz frequency band in the 3.5 GHz band, was set at $850 million and the price resulting from the tender was $1 billion 665 million. The price resulting from the tender was 2 billion 945 million dollars, excluding VAT.” he said.
Stating that all three mobile network operators participated in the tender, Karagözoğlu said: “Since they won certain frequency packages in the tender, they will pay 5 percent of their gross revenue every year starting from 2029 so that they can use their existing resources such as frequency and number for 5G services. We will submit our decision of the tender commission to the Information Technologies and Communication Board, the tender authority. The tender decision will be completed after the approval of the Information Technologies and Communication Board.” gave his assessment.
