Honey export from the Eastern Black Sea exceeded $1.8 million in 10 months

Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, said that 414 tons of honey from the region were exported to 11 countries in 10 months of the year.

Stating that exports generated 1 million 834 thousand 520 dollars, Gürdoğan announced that Germany, the United States and the United Arab Emirates were the countries with the most exports.

Gürdoğan pointed out that Germany is one of the most important export markets: “During this period, honey worth $765,000,195 was exported from our region to Germany. In the same period last year, $376,000,367 was exported to this country. Thus, honey exports to Germany increased by 103 percent in value terms in the 10 months of the year.” he said.

“We have expanded our export network by opening up new markets such as Jordan, Morocco and the Netherlands.”

Stating that Germany was followed by the United States with $604.82 and the United Arab Emirates with $190,811, Gürdoğan pointed out that honey was also sold to Jordan, Morocco and the Netherlands during this period, unlike the same period last year.

Pointing out that they care about honey export, Gürdoğan said:


“Our goal is to supply our honey exports to more countries and increase our contribution to the regional economy. During this period, we have expanded our export network by opening new markets such as Jordan, Morocco and the Netherlands. We believe that our export potential and country diversity will gradually increase in the coming days.”
