$500 million support package from 8 NATO member countries for Ukraine

NATO has issued a written statement on this issue.

The statement reported that Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden will support Ukraine under NATO's PURL initiative with a joint military equipment and ammunition package worth $500 million to be procured by the US.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, whose views were included in the statement, said: “Our northern and Baltic allies are taking an important step by taking over the financing of a new support package of critical military equipment for Ukraine.” he said.

Rutte explained that this equipment is extremely important at this time when Ukraine is entering the winter months, noting that deliveries carried out under PURL continue to reach Ukraine.
