Türkiye-Gürcistan free trade agreements of original rules are revised

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Minister Bolat will make an official visit to Georgia tomorrow.

During the visit, the $ 5 billion trading volume defined by the President of the two countries will be discussed as soon as possible. To facilitate the trade, contacts are made with a high level to evaluate the problems that strengthen logistics and customs cooperation with all dimensions.

In this context, Minister Bolat is accepted by Georgian President Mikheil Kaelaşvili and the Georgian Prime Minister İrakli Kobakhidze. Bolat will hold bilateral meetings with Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economics and sustainable development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili.

As part of the visit of Bolat in Georgia, the Torkiye Gürcistan Business Forum takes place. As part of the forum, it will design business people in Georgia. With these meetings, the economic and commercial relationships between Torkiye and Georgia are evaluated and the opinions of the business world are taken and potential projects are discussed. In this context, the decision to revise Türkiye-Gurcist's freedom of origin is signed by Bolat and KVRIVISHVILI to reach the bilateral trade destination of $ 5 billion quickly. This revision will be compatible with the FTA's original rules between Georgia and Torkiye with the Pan-European Akdeniz Regional Convention (PAAMK). Thus, bilateral commercial and regional supply chains will continue to be continued within the framework of the new crossing rules that come into force in 2026.

In accordance with the aim of improving commercial and economic relationships with Georgia, the imported customs tasks between the parties and effective taxes with quantity restrictions were abolished between November 1, 2008. Exports to Georgia last year was 2.75 billion US dollars and imports from Georgia 616 million dollars. While Torkiye comes first in the import and the entire retail volume of Georgia, the 6th country in which it exports the most.

In Georgia, Turkish investments achieved 238 million US dollars, while Georgian investments in Türkiye are $ 53 million. If the investments made by third countries are added, Turkish investments in Georgia are 1.5 billion US dollars. While over 2 thousand 200 Turkish partners are active in Georgia, these companies contribute to the Georgian economy and bilateral relationships. In the area of the contract, Turkish companies carried out 304 projects with around 5.6 billion US dollars in Georgia.

By visiting Minister Bolat to Georgia, the infrastructure of trade is intended to strengthen the strongest messages that are to be given by high -ranking official contacts. With the Business Forum and the meetings, communication between the representatives of the two countries and the vision of the two countries is intended to increase regional quality.
