Turksat 6a, the first domestic and national communication satellite of Türkiye, began on February 17 and the test programs were completed.
The domestic and national satellite, the tests of which are successfully completed, are now ready for service. Turksat 6a was put into operation today with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The national satellite, which has successfully completed all tests, was developed with more than 80 percent indigenous rate.
Turksat 6a satellites and Torkiye can produce communication satellites between 11 countries. With the start of Turksat 6a, the reporting area of the satellites reaches 5 billion people.
The area in which Turksat was served has expanded to India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Turksat 6a, Türkiyes first domestic and national communication satellite, was sent to space on July 9, 2024 with the Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX 'Cape Canaveral in Florida, Florida.
