Zafer Küçükşabanoğlu, President of the Artificial Intelligence Policy Association (AIPA), evaluated the impact of Türkiye's transition to 5G on artificial intelligence technologies.
Pointing out that Türkiye's transition to 5G technology is not only a transformation of communication infrastructure for the country, but also the beginning of a new era in artificial intelligence and digital economy, Küçükşabanoğlu said: “With the introduction of the new generation communication infrastructure, data-based technologies are expected to develop faster and the economic structure will develop into a higher value-added model.”
Küçükşabanoğlu pointed out that 5G technology allows artificial intelligence applications to work in real time with its high speed, low latency and structure that allows many devices to be connected at the same time.
“With 5G, the processes of value creation through data will accelerate significantly”
Stating that the development in question will allow artificial intelligence to become a system that makes instant decisions and directly controls operations, and not just an analytical technology, Küçükşabanoğlu said: “One of the most important impacts of the transformation that will begin with 5G will be the acceleration of the new production model, which will be defined as 'artificial intelligence economy'. With 5G, in addition to data production and processing, the processes of value creation through data will also be significantly accelerated, and companies are becoming more efficient, flexible and competitive. Costs are already falling, productivity and quality are increasing thanks to artificial intelligence-supported production systems, automation solutions and intelligent decision-making mechanisms.” he said.
Stating that new business models based on artificial intelligence are expected to emerge in many sectors such as finance, logistics, health, retail and energy, especially in industry, Küçükşabanoğlu stated that this process will not only transform existing sectors but also contribute to the formation of new entrepreneurial areas, increase technology-oriented investments and strengthen skilled employment.
Pointing out that the combination of 5G and artificial intelligence, when viewed at a global level, creates a new field of competition between countries, Küçükşabanoğlu said that the ability to produce, process and interpret data has become one of the most important determinants of economic power.
Küçükşabanoğlu stated that the transition to 5G will make a significant contribution to Türkiye achieving a stronger position in the global technology race if supported by the right strategies.
“With 5G, artificial intelligence-based solutions will spread to more areas”
Noting that they consider Türkiye's transition to 5G as an extremely important and strategic step, Küçükşabanoğlu said:
“5G will directly increase the speed, scale and impact of artificial intelligence applications, which will act as a strong catalyst for artificial intelligence technologies. This development opens the door to a new growth model not only technologically but also economically. Artificial intelligence is now at the center of the economy. With 5G, artificial intelligence-based solutions will spread to larger areas. We believe that if this process is properly evaluated, Türkiye will make a significant leap in terms of high value-added production and technology exports We would like to thank our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, especially our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who contributed to this important transformation. We thank everyone involved and hope that this step will be beneficial for Türkiye's digital future.
