Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a written statement about 5G technology, which will be available on April 1.
Stating that Türkiye has reached a new milestone in the history of mobile communications, Uraloğlu pointed out that the country has reached a critical threshold in its 32-year mobile communications journey.
Stating that the adventure that began on February 23, 1994 in the field of mobile communications will be transferred to a new phase with 5G technology, Uraloğlu said:
“Türkiye's transition to 5G will be officially announced at the ceremony on March 31 at the Presidential Complex in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. On April 1, 2026, the 5G service will be gradually launched in 81 provinces. Our goal is to spread the 5G service to every point of our country within two years. There will be radical changes in many areas, from intelligent transportation systems to autonomous driving, from Remote healthcare applications to smart factories, from high-definition media broadcasts to agricultural technologies.”
