4 more states joined the lawsuit against Apple in the USA for “monopolizing the smartphone market”

The ministry's statement recalled that in March, attorneys general of 16 states and the New Jersey District Court filed suit alleging Apple's “anti-competitive practices.”

The statement said the states of Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada and Washington also joined the antitrust case, and the amended version of the petition was submitted to the court.

The lawsuit, filed by the department in March, alleged that Apple used its market power to make more money from consumers, developers, content creators, artists, publishers, small businesses and retailers.

The lawsuit accuses Apple of establishing an illegal smartphone monopoly by imposing contractual restrictions on developers and denying them critical access, while arguing that each step in Apple's behavior strengthens the moat around its smartphone monopoly.
